Questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes, your first 7 days are free. You add a card when you start, and the subscription ($7.99 a month or $59 a year) begins on day 8 unless you cancel before. We email you 3 days before the trial ends.
What does “sound like a native speaker” mean?
Grammar checkers stop at mistakes. AI Grammatic also rewrites things that are technically correct but sound translated: word-for-word phrases, stiff wording, the wrong preposition or a missing article. It keeps your meaning, names, numbers, links and emoji.
Do I need my own AI API key?
No. The AI is included: we run it for you, and you can pick the model from OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or DeepSeek.
What happens to my text?
Your text passes through our server to the AI provider and is discarded once the rewrite comes back. We keep a count of how many words you rewrote each day, never the text.
Does it work in every Mac app?
In any app where you can select text and paste: Slack, Mail, Gmail, Notion, Linear, Messages, your code editor, any browser. It uses a global shortcut, and ⌘Z brings back what you wrote.
Which languages does it support?
More than 30, including English (US and UK), German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Give each language its own shortcut, and add ⇧ for a formal version.
How is it different from Apple Writing Tools or Grammarly?
Both are good at fixing mistakes. AI Grammatic is built for people who write in a second language: it rewrites for natural phrasing, translates as it goes, keeps a casual and a formal tone a shortcut apart, and lets you pick the AI model.
Why isn’t it on the Mac App Store?
To rewrite text in other apps AI Grammatic needs macOS Accessibility access, which the App Store sandbox doesn’t allow. It’s a direct download, signed and notarized by Apple.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, in the billing portal (Manage subscription in the footer). Cancel during the trial and you’re never charged. After that you keep access until the end of the month or year you paid for. Payments aren’t refunded.
